DISCOVER BALI

Naturally Curious

One of my favorite places in the world for many reasons. Follow my journey through the towns of Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, Uluwatu, Gili T, and Lombok.

Energy vortexes and ley lines; Bali is one sought after by so many to "find themselves." Many come to network as well as remote working, party, visit some of the best snorkeling and dive sites in the world, and so much more!

Bali offers more than you can imagine! I've visited twice and haven'te even tapped half of the explorations!

What to Know:

  • Do not drink the tap water!

  • Bardering is acceptable here! When you're shopping, trying to get a taxi, etc you must negotiate!

  • There is a taxi mafia- I'm not joking at all about this! Be aware- these men will stalk and harass you and try to get you to pay triple the price on taxis in certain areas! The Grab app ( much like Uber) is legal to use but they say some areas are restricted. So my advice is if your're in a touristy area, walk to a not so touristy spot and then order the Grab there! If a local asks you about a cab tell them you don't need a ride, you're fine! If you can't get a Grab and really need a ride you MUST negotiate prices with the taxi drivers because they will rip you off! Look at how much the Grab is charging and negotiate that price!

  • Be aware when you're in the ocean. The current can be very strong so pay attention to the flags!

  • Be aware of random large holes in the sidewalks/ on the side of the roads! My friend fell in one and it wasn't fun for her!

  • If  you go into the Monkey Forest in Ubud hold onto your phone/ camera! The monkeys may try to take it and good luck getting it back! They have rules for you to read but I wanted to highlight this!

  • There is a term called Bali Belly. Basically you might get sick from the food so bring anti diarrhea medication as a precaution! My advice is to avoid fruit that doesn't have a skin! I got sick for about a week after I ate a Bali Bowl with all the beautiful fruit! My friend however, did not get sick. Everyone is different so just be aware.
